Shi Yaoming works in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. He specializes in burn reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, superficial tumors, jaw deformity reconstruction, scar repair, facial deformity repair, etc.

Shi Yaoming, Chief Physician and Professor, graduated from Shanghai Second Medical College and has been practicing for 33 years. During this period, he pursued advanced training at the University of Sydney in Australia and the International Microsurgery Research Center, specializing in plastic surgery and microsurgery. Dr. Shi has comprehensively and systematically mastered professional theoretical knowledge in the field of plastic surgery, as well as diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical skills. He has relatively extensive clinical experience in difficult cases and highly complex operations in aesthetic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, burn reconstruction, and microsurgery. His work includes the treatment of scar contracture deformities of the head, face, neck, and limbs after trauma and burns, especially the correction of maxillofacial and cervical scar contracture and the severe open bite and reverse bite deformities it causes using orthognathic surgery. He also performs functional repair and reconstruction of claw hand and mutilated hand after burns, and reconstruction of facial organs including the ear, nose, and orbital cavity. He also performs repair and reconstruction of traumatic zygomatico-orbital deformities.

Research: He has participated in several research projects funded by national and local Natural Science Foundations. He is currently involved in the clinical application components of the tissue engineering projects led by Professor Cao Yilin, titled “Basic Research and Clinical Application of Bone Tissue Engineering Technology for Repairing Bone Defects” and “Basic Research and Clinical Application of Skin Tissue Engineering Technology for Repairing Skin Defects.” He has published more than 20 papers and contributed to the compilation of 4 professional books.
